Cheesy Pizza Dip

Ingredients

Scale

For the Base:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (optional for added creaminess)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (use turkey pepperoni for a leaner option)
  • ½ cup green bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Base:

  1. Mix the Cream Cheese and Cheeses: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the mozzarella, cheddar, and ricotta cheeses (if using). Mix until everything is well combined.
  2. Add the Pizza Sauce: Stir in the pizza sauce until it’s evenly incorporated into the cheese mixture.

Prepare the Toppings:

  1. Add the Pizza Toppings: Layer your chosen toppings, such as turkey pepperoni, bell peppers, red onions, and olives. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the mixture to add extra flavor.
  2. Spread the Mixture: Transfer the cheese mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish (or a similar-sized oven-safe dish), spreading it evenly.

Bake the Dip:

  1. Bake the Dip: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the dip for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
  2. Cool Slightly: Once baked, let the dip cool for a few minutes to firm up slightly before serving.

Serve and Garnish:

  1. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, top with fresh basil or extra slices of olives for garnish. Serve with your favorite dipping items such as tortilla chips, breadsticks, veggies, or crackers.
